| The firm of Neat Contech was
founded by Rulan Heunis in 1986, originally as Neat Pavers & Bricks.
As the name suggests, the firm's product range initially comprised only pavers
and bricks, serving mainly the local markets within a small radius around the
Eastern Cape town of Boesmansriviermond, where the firm's factory was situated. |

| Substantial product diversification over the past few years necessitated a name
change; in 1995 the firm's name was changed to Neat Contech
("Contech" = "concrete technology"). The firm also expanded its markets during
the period, thus now covering the entire Eastern Cape as well as the Southern
Cape. |

| Neat Contech obtained permits for its
Bushmans facory to carry the SABS-mark on its brick and paving products in 1990
and in 1991 respectively, and for hollow blocks in 1994. The permits were
extended in 2003 to include masonry and paving products manufactured at Neat's
Humansdorp factory, which was commissioned in 1995. Currently the firm offers a
wide range of paving products, in thicknesses that include 50mm, of colours and
colour combinations. |
